opportunities to participate

Prepare | Advent

As we’re making our lists and checking them twice in all the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations, we’d like to offer something that will also prepare out hearts. Our Prepare-Advent services offer a meaningful, interactive, visitor- and family-friendly way for each of us to ready our hearts for the birth of our Savior. Join us December 3, 10 & 17 at 4:30 pm for worship followed by Advent traditions and activities, fellowship and some great takeaways -- including free cider and a hot cocoa bar! All ages are welcome as we anticipate the true light who gives light to everyone!

Coffee House Jr.

Hey kids, grades 1-5, join us at Five Oaks on December 1, 6:30 - 8 pm, for a night of Christmas fun! Live music, cookie decorating a hot cocoa bar, and other fun activities await! Parents, please sign up your students with Rhiannon at

“For Unto Us,” our Women’s Christmas event, will be an evening of fellowship, Christmas foods and desserts, and carols. Opportunities to Serve

KHUSA Giving Tree

Our Kids Hope USA ministry is teaming with Woodbury Elementary to provide Christmas gifts to families in need at that school right here in our community. This is an opportunity for you and your family to share your many blessings with a family who cannot bless their own. Please pick a gift tag from the Giving Tree standing by the Ministry Cart starting December 2/3.  Please return the unwrapped gifts and tags from the tree to the Info Center at Five Oaks by December 17.

serve during Christmas Eve Services

Figuring out the best place to serve at Five Oaks can be overwhelming. That's why we have simple, ONE-time serve opportunities this Christmas. It's an easy way to test out serving and find your serve match.

For more information or to sign up, contact our Connections Director, Jennifer Clemens, at

Shoe Away Hunger

As part of our Prepare-Advent services, we will be hosting a Shoe Away Hunger drive. Please bring along some gently used footwear, including sneakers, sports shoes, casual shoes, boots, flip flops, ice skates, etc. This footwear is turned around by "Good in the Hood" to obtain food that is provided to the needy. Look in your closets for any new or gently used footwear to bring along when you come to our December Advent services on Sunday afternoons. Donated shoes should be tied or banded together, and placed in a plastic bag to keep them dry. Click here for more info on this Impact project.

Give Back as you Shop Amazon

Who knew you could give back to Five Oaks while Christmas shopping — or any shopping —  from home? Sound impossible? It’s very simple, actually. Hop over to AmazonSmile to give to Five Oaks Community Church. Any time you shop through AmazonSmile a portion of what you spend will be donated directly to our Five Oaks Students' Challenge fund!
