These folks are greeters.
This is Karla and Rick. They serve on Saturdays on a Greeter Team. Actually, they ARE the Greeter Team since the rest of their team has recently had to step down.
You may think this is an appeal for help because they are missing you.
It is true that you ARE needed, but you actually need THEM. If you are not serving somewhere, you are missing out on fellowship, blessing others, serving, worshiping...you get the idea, but you definitely don’t know what you’re missing.
Try something. Not your fit? Try something else. Serve somewhere.
You are a part of the Body of Christ, and you are needed.
To get involved, to find out what you're missing, to get to know Karla and Rick and countless others who serve and want to know you, please email Carol Jorgensen, firstname.lastname@example.org. Don't worry -- you can email with questions only, without over-committing yourself. We want to help you feel blessed by your blessing.

Final weekend for Karen Backpack Drive
Many Karen families are new arrivals to the U.S. and do not have the resources to purchase school supplies for their children. To these kids, having notebooks, markers, scissors and a new backpack may make the difference between a smooth transition to a new country and a new school and a difficult one.
Our goal this year is to fill 300 backpacks! Click here to view supply lists for both elementary and middle/high school backpacks. Filled backpacks are due back by the end of this weekend, so start shopping now if you have not done so yet. The Karen VBS Team will deliver filled backpacks to the Karen refugees living in the Brittany Apartments. Please contact Pam Hawley, email@example.com, with questions.
...for our Haiti team. Our Five Oaks team will travel to Fedja, Haiti, to teach discipleship to the children of All God’s Children orphanage, church, and school. They will also take Feed My Starving Children packets, with the help of the children from the orphanage, to distribute in nearby villages. Please pray for their health, safety, travel, and their impact while there. They travel July 30-August 6.
...for our Project Serve team. This middle school team will travel to Green Bay, WI, to serve in a variety of settings and experience biblical programming in the evenings. They travel July 31-August 5.

Join us for a discussion of “Mine is the Night” by Liz Curtis Higgs, August 9, 6:45 pm, in room 102. Please contact Dawn Goenner, email@example.com.
Meet and pray for a family in China
In China, the institution of family is under great stress. A group of House Churches in China will be having a family retreat August 26-28 with about 50 families attending. Each family attending would like a family here to pray for them up to and during the retreat – and they would like to pray for you! If you would like to pray for one of these families, please email Kevin Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive detailed instructions on how to participate. Once families have been paired up, you will receive a picture of your family in China.
