Weekend of October 26+27

It’s so much more than a Thanksgiving meal

You have provided literally TONS of Thanksgiving food for those in need over the years! Thanks! You can do that again by picking up an empty bag or two from the ministry cart in the commons, to fill for a local family who cannot afford a full Thanksgiving meal. But did you know that there are also ready-made opportunities to meet the people who receive Thanksgiving bags? Getting involved is simple: you may register in Realm under “UGM Thanksgiving Opportunities.” Questions? Email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Preparing your high schooler for what's next: join us this weekend
One of the hardest and most confusing times for both parents and teenagers is preparing for life after high school. Big questions come almost daily, which is why this is such an important step in the discipleship journey! Join us on Sunday, October 27 for a class that helps prepare you and your student to launch into the next phase of life. We are also excited to introduce a new experience called Encircled that focuses on students being surrounded by a group of adults that help them on this important journey. This class is open to students in 10-12th grade and their parents or guardians. Click here to register today!

Family Worship Night: Yes, the whole family!
Fall is filled with all the things! When life feels crowded it can be difficult to take time to be filled spiritually. We’re making space for all ages to gather in community and experience the joy and the fullness of God through extended worship. Bring your whole family and join us for Family Worship Night on November 8, 6:30-8pm. We’ll worship together while experiencing a variety of musical styles, an open space where kids and grown-ups can move with freedom, and response stations for all ages that will be open throughout the evening. Family friendly! Invite your friends and neighbors!

An easy way to get involved
Ever dropped your kids off in Five Oaks Kids and thought, I don’t know how those volunteers do it? Maybe you have a heart for kids but a classroom full of children feels overwhelming? We have many opportunities to serve on Saturday nights where numbers are lower and connecting with kids feels easier. Interested, even once a month or as a sub? Click here to email Kelly Bauman, or message her on Realm.

Loving your city: Kids Hope USA (Impact passport “GO” opportunity)
Too many students stand just one caring adult relationship away from thriving in school and in life. Could you be that adult? As a Kids Hope mentor, you would spend one hour at Woodbury Elementary School with one student once a week – it’s simple, and it’s life-changing. Interested in getting involved, or at least asking a few more questions? Email khusa@fiveoakschurch.org.

Is your next step baptism?
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change. It’s a public declaration of how Jesus is changing your life from the inside out. Your being baptized shows others that you’ve decided to follow Jesus and allows everyone to celebrate this decision with you! Interested? Click here to email Jonathan Haage, or message him on Realm. Our next baptisms are Nov. 9+10 during all worship services.

High school Camp Getaway: Bring your pals!
High school can be crazy full with activities, work, and planning for the future. That’s why we take a weekend to get away, have a ton of fun, grow closer to Jesus, and closer to one another. On Nov. 15-17, high schoolers have that chance to get away and breathe when we take over Camp Pepin, a YMCA camp near Red Wing. Registration is on Realm. Questions? Click here to email Henry Michael, or message him on Realm.
