Ladies, this weekend is your last opportunity to buy your ticket to the Spring Tea. This event offers a great chance to reach out to those special women in your life and enjoy a morning off of life's duties together. We'll have some fabulous tea, a catered meal, and a chance to catch up with friends you may not see often. Our theme this year is "He Calls Me Daughter." Saturday, May 21, 11 am. “Making Summer Count” workshop for parents
Parents! You are invited to join us for this spring parent workshop on May 22, during either the 9:15 or the 11:00 service in the gym. Led by Rhiannon Rutlege and John Eiselt, this workshop will offer fresh ideas on how to make the most of your summer with hands-on ideas and activities. Everything from rainy days to fun in the sun... from family activities to date night... even road trips to stay-cations! No need to RSVP.
Celebrate moms this weekend
The Five Oaks FUN Team wants to say a HUGE Thank You to all the moms and motherly figures who have influenced us. Please stroll through the Commons after the service and read the special messageswritten for you. You are also welcome to grab a blank card and write a note to the “mom” in your life. Orphan Branch Mother’s Day celebration at Sole Mio
Women, join the Five Oaks Orphan Branch as we celebrate Mother’s Day Wednesday, May 11, 5:15 - 7 pm for appetizers at Sole Mio in Woodbury. Stop by and chat about adoption, Safe Families, foster care or hosting an orphan visit. RSVP at orphan@fiveoakschurch.org or just stop by!
Vacation Bible School
Cave Quest: Following Jesus, the Light of the World, is a VBS experience your kids won’t want to miss! June13-17, 9:15-noon. Open to ages 3 (as of 9/1/15) through 4th grade completed. Must be potty trained. Cost: $45/child or family max of $100 (3 or more). “Family max” is for your family only; it does not include others you invite. Register at the Ministry Wall or on the church website.
Volunteers needed for VBS
In a high-energy environment with 200+ kids who are excited to learnabout Jesus, you can choose a high-impact volunteer spot, or a behind-the-scenes spot. Either way, we need your help! If interested, please register at the Ministry Wall or on the website. You also may write VBS Volunteer on your Communication Card.
Got grocery bags?
If you have extra paper grocery bags at home, please consider donating them to Five Oaks. We plan to transform them into rocks for the Cave Quest VBS set. Please drop them off at the Guest Service desk until May 29.
Global Leadership Summit
GLS is returning to Five Oaks again this August, but this year as a private site. This change will allow all of us to experience the great leadership teaching, and Five Oaks staff will cover the basic volunteer stations. GLS will look much the same inside our building as it always has, but we are not an advertised site for people outside our church family. Thurs. & Fri., August 11/12, 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Cost: $89. It’s a way of saying, “I want to be part of the mission of this local church.” If you have a personal relationship with Christ and have completed Story of God (either in your small group or in the class), make plans to come to the next membership class on May 15, 9:15-noon.
