Weekend of August 9+10

Outdoor baptisms: What a day!

Two Sundays ago, our church family gathered on the island at the University of Northwestern to celebrate something truly powerful - lives changed by Jesus. Those being baptized ranged in age from 6 years old to 80. It was hot, sunny, and yes, even sweaty for the rest of us, but we love to celebrate this significant milestone when our people make this decision for Jesus! It was a beautiful day full of worship, community, and stories of God at work. If you’d like more info on baptism and why it matters, click here for a quick resource from Pastor Henry.

Find your path to serve
Did you know that we fill over 200 volunteer spots each week to make everything run smoothly? It’s through the dedication and hard work of our amazing community that we can connect people with God and one another. Whether you’re not currently serving, serving annually, or serving monthly, we invite you to join us at our Serve Rally this weekend between services. This event is designed to help you find your perfect serve niche. Each ministry will have a table showcasing available roles and their job descriptions, making it easy for you to explore how you can contribute to God’s work. Stop by the tables in the commons after services to start exploring ways you can use your gifts to serve our community! Questions? Email Tom Vang, tvang@fiveoakschurch.org.

Students at Woodbury Elementary need you - Kids Hope USA
Did you know that in the past year, 27 students at Woodbury Elementary were served by 50+ Five Oakers through mentoring, prayer, and more through KHUSA? And we could use more help in a few different roles: administration, planning and logistics, 1-1 mentoring, prayer, and program leadership. We would love to have you join our Kids Hope team! If you’re interested or would like more information, please email Rebekah Laudermilch at khusa@fiveoakschurch.org, or Dave Baar at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Help create a worshipful environment
Great worship doesn’t happen by accident - It happens in part due to a team of highly dedicated tech team volunteers serving to create a worshipful environment. Love tech, creativity, or just serving your church? We’re looking for people to join our Worship Tech Team - the ones who quietly make our weekend services feel seamless and meaningful! No experience needed—we’ll train you. If you’re interested in learning more, email Jared Doran at jdoran@fiveoakschurch.org.
