global 6K: expand our impact by inviting others
You already know that the Global 6K on May 16 is about providing clean water to people around the world. It’s also about celebrating the many ways that God has blessed our community - including the beauty of SPRING after a long WINTER. This is the perfect kind of event to invite a friend, family member, neighbor, or colleague who is not so sure about church, but would love to get outside, help people in need around the world, and hang out with YOU! Please help us bless our world and community in a greater way by stepping out in courage and faith, and inviting the person(s) that God has put on your heart and mind. Between now and May 10, give the discount code 6KINVITE to anyone you invite. They’ll get $20 off each registration. All the details and registration here. Questions? Email impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
Join us in prayer on Sunday
Missionary prayer is this weekend! Join us as we pray for our missions partners between the services this Sunday April 26 from 10:15-10:45 am in Room 102. We’ll pray over specific requests sent from our local and global missionaries and missions partners. If this Sunday doesn’t work for you, we do it every month on the final Sunday. Not only is the power of prayer important, but also this is a great way to help make our missions partners real to us and get to know them a little better by partnering with them in prayer. Questions? Email Dave Baar.
Students, gear up for Mission: Impact
Give your student the chance to grow in serving others. On April 29 and May 6, high school changes time to 6:00-8:30 pm to experience hands-on service projects at Five Oaks and out in the community, serving with their leaders and trusted partners. (Middle school still meets at Five Oaks 6-8 pm.) These experiences help students build confidence, deepen their faith, and make an impact where we live. Sign your high schooler up for a project location here.

Global 6K: We’d love your help
As the Global 6K for Clean Water approaches on May 16, we need your help to make this event a success for both the communities across the world in need of clean water, and for all of the families who are participating in the event. We’re expecting lots of non-Five Oakers to walk, run, and stroll that day, some of whom have no idea how amazing the people of Five Oaks are. Let’s welcome all who show up that day! We’d love your help with set-up, tear-down, snack table, to name a few. Interested in helping out? (By the way, YES! You can volunteer to help AND walk or run the 6K!) Find more info at www.fiveoaks.church/global-6k

Ladies, final TABLE of the year (+summer opportunities)
Our final TABLE of the ministry year is coming up on May 6. Join us for a potluck-style brunch with a keynote speaker and a time of connection with others. This summer, our women’s ministry will also have opportunities for park playdates, a summer evening Bible study, and periodic meet-ups for coffee or lunch. More info and sign-ups are available here.
FAM freezer + your help = endless impact
Have you noticed the new Foster Adopt Ministry (FAM) Freezer just inside the kitchen door? With your help, we’re already serving seven foster families monthly with freezer meals and pantry items! The FAM Freezer is a tangible way for you to serve the most vulnerable in our community. Head to the kitchen after any weekend service to grab a casserole dish, soup container, or pantry bag. Fill it up and bring it back! Join our email list to hear about ways to serve and contribute. Email Maggie Butler to get started.
Share the Story of God with DailyLife
Do you have a passion for words or a heart for creative storytelling? DailyLife devotions is looking for fresh voices! This is a unique opportunity to serve our church family by crafting short, weekly devotionals that inspire and encourage. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, your unique perspective can help others connect with God in their everyday moments. We also have opportunities for editors to join our team. Ready to use your gift? Email Peg Benson for more info.
Do you ask great questions?
Our Sermon Application Guide (SAG) is the heartbeat of our small groups, turning Sunday’s message into Monday’s action. We are looking for writers and editors to help craft the very questions that spark breakthrough and discipleship across our church! If you have a knack for asking “the right question” or a love for deep diving into scripture, we need your insight. Interested? Contact Liza Halverson, lhalverson@fiveoakschurch.org.
