World Vision Global 6K: We’d love your help
As the Global 6K for Clean Water approaches on May 17, we need your help to make this event a success for both the communities across the world in need of clean water, and for all of the families who are participating in the event. We’re expecting lots of non-Five Oakers to walk, run, and stroll that day, some of whom have no idea how amazing the people of Five Oaks are. Let’s welcome all who show up that day! We’d love your help with set-up, tear-down, and snack table, to name a few. Interested in helping out? (By the way, YES! You can volunteer to help AND walk or run the 6K!) Find more details

Got big questions about Christianity?
There are few emotions more powerful than hope. But these days, hope often feels hard to come by. The 3-week Hope Explored class is for you if you’re exploring faith, seeking answers to questions about Jesus or the Bible, or disconnected from a church community. Using well-produced videos, Bible explorations, and group discussion, our Hope Explored class presents the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and provides an opportunity to discover how he fulfills three great longings we all experience: the longing for hope, peace, and purpose. We have two spring classes starting on May 3 and 4. Details and registration here (May 3) and here (May 4).
VBS is filling fast!
Vacation Bible School changes the walls of our church into a place where kids come to engage and encounter God and his community in a life-changing way. VBS will take place July 14-17, 9:15 to noon and is open to children aged 3 (by 9/1/24) up through finishing third grade. Volunteers are needed in a variety of ways. This is an amazing and fun week where many kids cross the line of faith, and we get to be a part of that transformation. Space is limited, so register soon! To volunteer, click here. To register your child(ren), click here.
Want to be the guide behind the scenes?
Great worship doesn’t happen by accident — it happens in part due to a team of dedicated tech volunteers serving to create a worshipful environment. Love tech, creativity, or just serving your church? We’re looking for people to join our Worship Tech Team - the ones who quietly make our weekend services feel seamless and meaningful. No experience needed—we’ll train you. If you’re interested in learning more, email Jared Doran at jdoran@fiveoakschurch.org.
Let’s pause to pray for our Impact partners this weekend
Mark your calendar! On the last Sunday of each month, we gather to pray through specific prayer requests that we’ve received from the missionaries whom we support and our Impact partners. Join us at 10:15 am in Room 102 each month. Our next gathering is this weekend – see you there! Questions? Email Dave Baar @ impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
Serve single moms in our community next weekend
Two of our impact ministries that serve single mothers will be set up in the commons, sharing opportunities for you to serve single moms in our community. The MOMS Program seeks to break generational poverty by assigning a Christian mentor to a single mother in poverty for three years, providing mentoring and financial support to the family. ESTHER Homes, motivated by the love of Jesus, comes alongside pregnant women who are experiencing crisis. They provide housing, resources, and life skills so that each mom-to-be can focus on creating a better future for her family. Plan to stop by the tables after services to see how you can support these ministries and help ensure each mom being served by these ministries has a great Mother’s Day! Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org
Love our neighbors by donating blood (save the date!)
At Five Oaks, we see you tangibly loving your neighbors in all sorts of ways, it’s something you don’t just say, but something you do. Because He first loved us, we have the joy of loving others in real, life-giving ways. We’re inviting you to join us in a simple but powerful act of love: Donating blood to help those in need. Your one donation could be the answer to someone’s prayer. A stranger you will never meet will be blessed through your generosity. Save the date for June 4, here at the church between 9 am- 3 pm. More details to come! Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org
