Most of us are waiting for life to slow down before we go all-in with God. But the shepherds in Luke 2:8–20 didn’t have a pause button—and neither do we. When angels announced the birth of Jesus, they faced a costly decision: protect their livelihood or pursue the glory God was revealing. They chose to leave everything behind, encounter Christ, and then return changed. This Advent message explores how we can experience God’s transcendent glory in the middle of ordinary, busy lives. By walking away from what defines us and then returning to leverage everything for God’s kingdom, we discover that true glory isn’t found in waiting—it’s found in worshipful obedience.
