Weekend of April 8+9

Haiti informational meeting this weekend

Is God calling you to love the orphans of Haiti?  Impact Ministries is sending a team to serve and teach at the All God’s Children Orphanage, outside of Mirebalais, Haiti, from June 24 – July 1, 2017.  Please plan to attend our Haiti Mission Informational Meeting on April 9, 12:15 pm, Room 105, directly after services.  Discover how you too can be part of the Great Commission.  For further information email Haiti@fiveoakschurch.org.

Palm Sunday special offering (that's this weekend!)
From time to time it comes to our attention that a member or regular attender of Five Oaks is in a short term financial crisis.  The Help Fund exists to provide emergency financial aid and serve as a bridge at such times.  On Palm Sunday we will be taking a special offering to replenish our Help Fund.  Envelopes will be available at services that weekend.  You can also simply write “Help Fund” on the memo line of your check.  If you prefer to give online use the Special Offering option under the GIVE tab on our website, or click on this link  and write “Help Fund” in the available text box.

Are you new to Five Oaks? Join our Discovery Seminar April 9 (that's this Sunday!)

We’re all pretty good at self-sabotage. It’s no different when it comes to our own spiritual growth. That’s why we have the Discovery Seminar. We look at three dumb things smart people do to sabotage their own spiritual growth, and what you can do instead. We offer it every month because it’s part of offering a clear pathway to connecting, growing, and making a difference with us—10-Minute Connect, Discovery, and Story of God. The second half of the Discovery Seminar is an opportunity for you to ask questions about Five Oaks. This is for new folks like you. Our next class is April 9, 11 am - 12:15 pm, room 101.

In the past three years, our team at Five Oaks has raised funds to supply clean water for over 1000 people in Africa. Most of our team members are first-time runners. You can do it! If you are curious, slightly interested, or even just looking for a good cause for your running efforts, come to the info session after each service in the Worship Center. For more info, write ‘TWV ’and your email on your Communication Card, or go to click here for more info.

Journeymen starting new study series called Taking Care of Business
Work. For most people, it’s a necessity. For some, it’s a passion. And for others, it’s a four-letter word to be avoided when possible. But for all of us, only one perspective on work really matters: God’s. He ordained it and he laid out specific guidelines for us to achieve maximum success and fulfillment while on the job. This study addresses specific problem areas we’re all familiar with, from dealing with coworkers and superiors while exemplifying Christ, to balancing our work and home life. Please join us for this 6-part series starting Thursday April 20 or Saturday, April 22, depending which fits your schedule.  Click here to register online.
