Story of God class offerings expanded

The Story of God class gives you the opportunity to learn how the Bible fits together to tell one story, and where you fit in the story of God. This six-week class helps you connect with others in a cohort and discover a relational approach to spiritual growth. Several Story of God classes begin this fall, the first of which starts September 17, 11 am right here at Five Oaks. You'll find more details, class start dates and times, and registration info at www.storyofgod.church.

'tis the season for small groups!

Back to school...back to small group! As a church, we see that God designed us to do life together. And the best way to do that is through our small groups. We have groups meeting every day of the week, in every stage of life, as well as men’s groups and women’s groups. To learn more, visit the Ministry Cart in the Commons this weekend. You can also access more info at www.fiveoaks.church/smallgroups.

New teachers, new classrooms & mini-donuts. Yes!
This weekend we officially kick off our next ministry year. All kids move up a grade to their new classroom, and many of our ministries begin their fall programing. To usher in our ministry year, we’re celebrating with food trucks in our parking lot after services! On September 9, bring some extra cash for Free Indeed -- gluten free mini donuts, fresh strawberry smoothies, lemonade, and gluten free chicken strips.  On September 10 we’ll have Free Indeed plus Tasty Twins, a truck from the MN Twins that sells a variety of family-friendly foods. Bring your appetite!

Help us ‘usher’ in a new year…
Are you friendly? Do you like to greet people, make them feel comfortable, even solve small problems on the spot? If you answered yes to any of those, you may have a future in ushering! Our Connections Team is looking to recruit several additional ushers for teams we are adding to our weekend services. We need help at our Saturday services, and we also need help at both the first and second Sunday services. For more information, please email Jennifer Clemens, jclemens@fiveoakschurch.org.

This October in Five Oaks Students we will be holding our Student Challenge Silent Auction. At the Challenge Conference students will get the opportunity to learn and hear from amazing speakers, worship with talented worship artists, hang out with each other and their leader, serve the community, and spend time learning about and connecting with Jesus. In order to make this trip happen, we hold the Student Challenge Silent Auction. This year we are seeking donations for the auction. These donations might include stays at cabins, sport team tickets, hotel stays, auto/home repairs, unique experiences like fishing, activities for families, electronics, etc. We would also like to partner with our local Five Oaks businesses to include in the silent auction.
