Weekend of August 30+31

Join our mission (membership)

Membership is more than a formality—it’s a way of saying, “I’m all in on what God is doing here.” If you have a personal relationship with Jesus and have completed the Story of God class, your next step is the Membership Class on Sunday, September 14 at 10:45 am. It’s a chance to deepen your connection and fully join the mission of this church family. Put “membership” on your connect card and we’ll send you the
registration link. If you want more info on Story of God, follow QR code below or put “Story of God” on your connect card to get the link to all the fall Story of God classes.

A new season. A bigger story. Your place in It.

Fall brings fresh rhythms—and the perfect chance to build deeper connections. Whether you’re looking for meaningful friendships, spiritual growth, or both, we’ve got a place for you.
Women’s Ministry: Bible studies (morning & evening), our monthly TABLE brunch, and Connect 4. More info here.
Men’s Ministry (Journeymen): Pancake breakfast with a guest speaker on September 6, plus weekly studies, both morning and evening. More info here.
Young Adults (18–24): Fall kickoff September 7 at 6 pm at a leader’s home—come do life and grow in faith together. Email Melissa Kloetstra, ginjakloetstra@gmail.com.

Let’s pause to pray for our Impact partners — this weekend!
Mark your calendar! On the last Sunday of each month, we gather to pray through specific prayer requests that we’ve received from the missionaries whom we support and our Impact partners. Join us at 10:15 am in Room 102 this Sunday — and each month. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Youth group Wednesdays: Invite your friends into deeper connection this fall
Wednesday nights are the best night of the week, and this fall it all starts on September 17, 6-8 pm for middle schoolers, and 7-9 pm for high schoolers. Each student is welcomed by leaders who create a space for fun and growth through worship, teaching, and small groups. Invite your friends – you just don’t know who might be open to the gospel. Parents, if you want to receive the weekly parent email, please email Mindy Wissink, mwissink@fiveoakschurch.org

Move on up next weekend!
On September 6 and 7,
all children will move up to their next grade-level classroom. We’re planning some extra fun since the future is so bright for all these kids. This weekend is a great opportunity to invite friends who might be interested in connecting at church or who are looking for a new chuch. Our leaders and helpers are looking forward to seeing your kids! If you’d like more info or want to get involved in Five Oaks Kids, email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.

Serve a meal at Dorothy Day
If you’d like to make a difference to our neighbors in St. Paul, join us to prepare and serve a meal at the Dorothy Day Center on September 6, 9:30 am-1:15 pm. Interested? Email Tim Wiant, wiynts4riverfalls@gmail.com. Tim will get back to you with confirmation of your spot on our team and how to get signed up. Volunteers need to be at least 13 years old.
