Take your next step as a leadeR
Summer is here — and while schedules shift and kids are out of school, there’s still plenty happening at Five Oaks for adults. Journeymen meet twice monthly on Saturday mornings to study Amos, Five Oaks Women offers Wednesday morning playdates, evening studies, and mid-day meetups, and most small groups host socials during our summer months. Email Matt Karasek for info on Journeymen. Find all the women’s offerings on our website here. Details on small groups can be found here.
Take your next step as a leader
You influence people every day — at work, at home, in ministry, and in your community. Whether you’re just discovering that or you’ve been leading for years, the best leaders never stop growing. The Global Leadership Summit is a two-day experience designed to equip you to make a greater impact where God has placed you. Five Oaks is a host site this year — join us August 6 and 7. Details and registration here. Register by June 19 before the price goes up by $50!
Try a new role and bless our youngest Five Oakers this summer
Summer in Minnesota: short and beloved. Many of our regular weekly FO Kids volunteers will travel and take a well-deserved break from serving, which opens up opportunities for others to step in and bless the families who count on consistent, caring leaders each week. We all know that Kids’ ministry is an important part of how we invest in the next generation, so if you have even a few dates this summer when you’d be willing to help with FO Kids, email Kelly Bauman.
Students' Summer Events: Mark your calendar
Youth group looks a bit different in the summer with lighter programming and an emphasis on connection and big fun at our Students Summer Events nights. These kick off on June 24, with a different theme each week. Mark your calendar now for June 24, July 22, August 5, 12, and 19. (Yes! These are great invite opportunities for your friends!) More details to come. Questions? Email Mindy Wissink.
Make worship part of your holiday weekend
As you make plans for the Fourth of July weekend, join us for worship on Saturday, July 4, at 4 pm. We’ll hold one Saturday service that day, leaving plenty of time for family gatherings and evening celebrations. Our Sunday service times remain 9 and 10:45 am. (Yes! We’ll be back to our regular schedule of four worship services the following weekend!)
Do you have the gift of hospitality and welcoming?
Connections Ministry offers volunteers the chance to help make our weekends happen by greeting, ushering, providing safety and security, serving as a concierge, or working at the Acorn Cafe. If you have about one hour a month to spare, and you enjoy welcoming people and helping point them in the right direction, Connections may be a great place for you to serve, and summer is a great time to try out a new role! We’d even love to add you to our sub lists. Email Beth Harmening to get started.
