The people you influence deserve your best
The best leaders never stop growing. That’s why we’re hosting the Global Leadership Summit on August 6–7. Over two inspiring days, you’ll gain practical leadership tools and a fresh perspective from world-class speakers, including Craig Groeschel, Priscilla Shirer, Arthur C. Brooks, Jim Collins, and Candace Cameron Bure. The Summit is also a great opportunity to invite a friend, coworker, or neighbor who may never attend church but wants to grow as a leader. Right now, first-time attendees can receive 50 percent off with the code FirstTimeFriend when you purchase your ticket. Super Early Bird pricing of $50 off ends June 19. Invest in your leadership and the people you influence every day. Register here. Questions? Email Emily Brewer.
Try a new role and bless our youngest Five Oakers this summer
Summer in Minnesota: short and beloved. Many of our regular weekly FO Kids volunteers will travel and take a well-deserved break from serving, which opens up opportunities for others to step in and bless the families who count on consistent, caring leaders each week. We all know that Kids’ ministry is an important part of how we invest in the next generation, so if you have even a few dates this summer when you’d be willing to help with FO Kids, email Kelly Bauman.
Please pray for our middle schoolers this week
Your prayers matter. Our middle school students head to Camp Getaway this weekend, and we’re asking God to open hearts, deepen faith, and draw students closer to Jesus. Throughout this week students will discover how God’s promise of a rescue plan unfolds in the Old Testament and culminates in Christ. Please pray for meaningful conversations, strong friendships, growth in their faith in Jesus, and safety for everyone attending. We can’t wait to see how God works through your prayers in the lives of our students.
Students' Summer Events: Mark your calendar
Youth group looks a bit different in the summer with lighter programming and an emphasis on connection and big fun at our Students Summer Events nights. These kick off on June 24, with a different theme each week. Mark your calendar now for June 24, July 22, August 5, 12, and 19. (Yes! These are great invite opportunities for your friends!) More details to come. Questions? Email Mindy Wissink.
Make worship part of your holiday weekend
As you make plans for the Fourth of July weekend, join us for worship on Saturday, July 4, at 4 pm. We’ll hold one Saturday service that day, leaving plenty of time for family gatherings and evening celebrations. Our Sunday service times remain 9 and 10:45 am. (Yes! We’ll be back to our regular schedule of four worship services the following weekend!)
Do you have the gift of hospitality and welcoming?
Connections Ministry offers volunteers the chance to help make our weekends happen by greeting, ushering, providing safety and security, serving as a concierge, or working at the Acorn Cafe. If you have about one hour a month to spare, and you enjoy welcoming people and helping point them in the right direction, Connections may be a great place for you to serve, and summer is a great time to try out a new role! We’d even love to add you to our sub lists. Email Beth Harmening to get started.
Introducing our Impact interns!
Praise God for calling three students to serve as Impact interns this summer. Over the next 10 weeks, Michael Bennett, Annika Burquest, and Simon Selbitschka will be learn about God’s call to serve our neighbors in need. They will be take part in a six-week missions course, meet with Five Oaks-supported missionaries, work with staff and volunteers on internal projects, and with our Impact champions on service projects in our community. Please keep Michael, Annika, and Simon in your prayers!
Please pray for Impact Partner Barb Hawn
Five Oaker Barb Hawn is one of our Impact Partners in her role as a leader with an organization called Moms In Prayer. Barb works with churches and leaders throughout Asia to mobilize and train groups of moms to engage in powerful prayer for their families, schools, and communities. Barb is currently on a three-week trip to Mongolia, where she is leading two major prayer conferences and training new leaders in the region. Please pray for Barb, and for the country of Mongolia, that it will be transformed through the powerful prayer of moms.
