Weekend of July 18+19

Helping the next generation know Jesus

We’re celebrating family dedications this weekend, an encouraging reminder that no family raises children alone. As parents commit to pointing their children to Jesus, we have the privilege of praying for them, encouraging them, and walking alongside them as a church family.  Join us in celebrating what God is doing in the next generation. Interested in dedicating your child in the future? Put “dedication” on your connect card.

Register now for our outdoor baptism service
If you’ve been around our church for more than a minute, you know that we love to celebrate baptisms. Our annual outdoor summer baptism service will be August 16, 10 am, on the island at the University of Northwestern. We’ll listen to the amazing faith stories from those being baptized and sing some worship music together to celebrate. After baptisms, we invite you to stay for treats, lemonade, and some time to swim. Plese register for all who plan to attend so we can plan well for refreshments. All details and registration are available here. Please note: Our baptism service is the only worship service we will have the weekend of August 15+16.

Make an impact from St. Paul to Haiti

You can help kids in our community and in Haiti to start the new school year well by providing them with the supplies they need. Throughout the month of July, we’re hosting an online drive in partnership with Hope for the Brave and GVCM. Hope for the Brave is collecting backpacks to distribute to kids in need in St. Paul. GVCM is collecting funds to provide 200 students with essential school supplies, shoes, and uniforms made by women in Haiti. To participate in the Hope for the Brave Backpack Drive, click here. Ready to invest in kids? Start here.
Serving in FO Kids is a natural way to help shape the next generation for Jesus. You can help in a number of ways–teaching, small group leadership, greeting families, and subbing. Every role helps create a welcoming environment. Interested in serving in FO Kids this fall? We’d love to hear about your areas of interest and availability. Please take a few minutes to fill out our serving survey by clicking here. Questions? Email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.

Help Young Adults find their place
Do you have a heart for young adults and love bringing people together? We’re looking for a fun, energetic co-leader to join our adult leadership team of our 18-24 year-old young adults this September! You won’t be flying solo—you’ll learn the ropes alongside leaders who’ve been there. No experience required, just passion and a willingness to show up. If God’s nudging you toward this volunteer role, we’d love to chat. Interested? Contact Danny Martin, dmartin@fiveoakschurch.org.

The people you influence deserve your best
The best leaders never stop growing. That’s why we’re hosting the Global Leadership Summit on August 6–7. Over two inspiring days, you’ll gain practical leadership tools and a fresh perspective from world-class speakers, including Craig Groeschel, Priscilla Shirer, Arthur C. Brooks, Jim Collins, and Candace Cameron Bure. The Summit is also a great opportunity to invite a friend, coworker, or neighbor who may never attend church but wants to grow as a leader.. Invest in your leadership and the people you influence every day. Register here. Questions? Email Emily Brewer.

Make plans now to bring clean water to Belize
We’re already planning a short-term mission trip for January 9–15, 2027, with Filter of Hope in Belize. Together, we’ll visit families, provide life-changing water filters, and share the hope we’ve found in Jesus. We’re announcing it early so you have plenty of time to pray, plan, and consider whether God might be inviting you to be part of this team. Interested, have questions, or just want to stay in the loop? Write “Mission Trip” on your connect card or email Dave Baar at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
