Weekend of August 22+23

What if finances weren’t stressful?

Money worries can quietly steal our peace. Financial Peace University is a nine-week class that walks participants through budgeting, beating debt, and building savings, all grounded in biblical teaching on stewardship. Couples, singles, and older teens welcome. Our class starts Saturday, September 12 at 4 pm in room 105. Interested? Details and registration here. Questions? Email Danny Martin.

Growing kids starts with great leaders
Every weekend is a chance to shape a child’s faith, and sometimes that means navigating busy classrooms and big personalities. Whether you’re already serving in Five Oaks Kids or considering joining the team, this training will give you practical tools. Join us on Saturday, August 22, 12–2 pm, for our Kids Volunteer Training & Appreciation Event, featuring a professional educator who will share effective classroom management strategies. Details and registration are here.

Families, mark your calendar for ministry kickoffs!
Five Oaks Kids:
Kids move up to their next grade-level classrooms September 12+13! We’ll have an ice cream truck onsite with treats for purchase, too! Five Oaks Students: Youth Group Kickoff is Wednesday, September 16! Middle school meets 6–8 pm; high school meets 7–9 pm. We can’t wait to start another year of helping students know Jesus and grow together. Fall is a great time to invite a friend or another family to come check out ministry at our church.

Did you miss our serve rally? Never fear.
If you were out of town when we hosted our Serve Rally a couple of weeks ago, you missed the opportunity to engage with many of our ministry leaders and key volunteers about ways you can step in and use your gifts to serve on the weekends and/or behind the scenes. If you’d like more info on the current needs in any particiular serving area of our church, stop by the Serve Central table in the commons this weekend to learn more. Questions? Email Levi Case.

Know a family who is fostering or adopting?
Our FAM (Foster & Adopt Ministry) Freezer has been serving families since April—and thanks to your generosity, it’s well stocked! Now we need your help reaching the foster and adoptive families, in our community, who could benefit. They may be your neighbors! Help us spread the word so these families can receive practical support as they care for children who have experienced trauma. To share a referral, email Maggie & Michael Butler, mbutler1@fiveoakschurch.org.

Bringing Sunday into Monday
Living out our faith at work isn’t always easy. Whether you're looking for opportunities to share your faith, encourage a co-worker, or simply worship Jesus through your everyday work, you’re not alone. We want to be a church that understands the opportunities and challenges we all face in our everyday work so we can equip each other for the places God has already called us. We invite you to take a short survey from us to help us better understand the unique challenges of sharing the gospel in your workplace. (Start by clicking here.) It takes just a few minutes, and because we'll check in again down the road, we'll ask for your name and email. Your responses will help us better understand the challenges you face and equip our church to live out our faith every day. Questions? Email Levi Case, lcase@fiveoakschurch.org.

Guys, it’s Pancake Breakfast time!
Our Journeymen Ministry is looking forward to another great year of ministry.  We are kicking off the year with our annual Pancake Breakfast on September 12.  Join us to hear about the ministries that Journeymen participates in throughout the year, enjoy pancake and sausage, hear God's Word from our very own Levi Case (Pastoral Resident of Five Oaks Church), and enjoy hanging out with other men. Whether it’s your first or tenth Journeymen season, don’t miss this opportunity to reignite your faith journey in our men’s ministry! Details and registration here.
