Weekend of June 7+8

Adults — get connected this summer!

Summer is a great time to make new connections and deepen friendships. We have some great options for men and women this summer: Men, join our every-other-week Bible study at 7 am on Saturdays at the church, starting June 14. More details here- and you can just show up to get connected!  Ladies, join our Tuesday evening Bible study (6:30 pm at church) and/or Wednesday morning playdates at local parks, 9:30-11:30 am. For more info on these, check our women’s ministry page on the website.

Please join us in prayer for summer camps
Our middle schoolers are at camp June 8-13, and our high schoolers will be there June 15-20.
Did you know that five days of camp = more discipleship hours than an entire year of Wednesday night youth group? God moves every year in students’ lives! Please pray for students’ hearts to be open to the Holy Spirit working in their lives and that they would take bold next steps in their walk with Jesus. Please also ask God to strengthen our leaders, cover the logistics, and work mightily in leaders’ ability to disciple our young people.

Young adults: Come to our social this Sunday
If you’re between ages 18 and 24, and you’ve graduated from high school, you may be looking for community with others your age. Our Young Adult ministry meets most Sundays all summer long at church. (More info here.) We’re having a social on June 8 to kick off the summer together! Join us at the home of Jeff and Melissa Kloetstra for grilling, volleyball, time to hang out, and board and card games. Text Melissa with questions or to RSVP: 612-453-8388.

Baptism classes are this weekend!
Baptism is an important faith milestone. Jesus was baptized, and he called his disciples to go into the world to make disciples and baptize them. If you or your kids have questions about baptism, join us for one of two baptism classes on June 8 at 10:45 am. The adults class will be in room 102 (register here), and the class for kids and students (and their parents) will be in the west end of the commons (register here).

Impact Mondays - check out DailyLife
Did you know we have an email devotional called DailyLife? Written and edited by a team of volunteers, each day includes content and questions based on the same scripture studied in our weekend sermons. On Mondays, the DailyLife devotional is a bit different in that it focuses on one of our Impact partners and prayer requests for their ministry. This is a great way to stay connected with our Impact partners and to lift them up regularly in prayer. Interested? Sign up at www.fiveoaks.church/dailylife.

Summer youth group
The youth group is taking a short break from Wednesday programming in June, as that is our month of summer camps. Please join us in praying for all the camp details and for transformation in the hearts of students who are signed up to attend! And mark your calendar—summer youth group kicks off on July 2. Every week of summer youth group has a new theme! More details to come! Questions? Email students@fiveoakschurch.org.

We’d love your help with VBS prep!
Vacation Bible School is always one of our big highlights. Whether or not you volunteer that week, we would love your help with preparation and set-up. We have two days set aside for this - Thursday, July 10, starting at 9 am, and Sunday, July 13, right after the second service ends. Interested in helping, even for a few hours? Email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.

Please welcome our summer Impact interns!
We’re looking forward to an exciting summer on the Impact team, as we’ll have three rising seniors join us as interns: Noah Larson, Isaac Lee, and Elisha Redmann. In their ten weeks with us, their projects will include the Slovakia Mission trip, helping out at middle school Camp Getaway, working with various local Impact partners, some internal Five Oaks staff projects, and helping to evaluate a new missions education course. Join us in praying for their summer. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
