Weekend of May 31+ June 1

REFINE YOUR PATH THROUGH RADICAL MENTORING

Mentorship can have a significant impact on our lives, no matter our age or stage of life. Radical Mentoring is an intentional pairing of a few men or women with an older, seasoned mentor for the duration of 10 months. Through studying Scripture, reading books, discussion, and learning some practical tools, mentees grow in both their relationship with God and their capacity to be a better spouse, parent, employee, and friend. You can find more info on Radical Mentoring for men here on our website. More info on Radical Mentoring for Women can be located here on our website. Questions? Email Peg Benson, pbenson@fiveoakschurch.org.

Ladies, two ways to get involved this summer
1. Join us Tuesday evenings, June 3 - July 1, 6:30-8 pm, for a Bible study
on 1 John. We will gather each week to discuss what we’re learning, build community and pray. Email Louise Sampson,
sampsonseven@yahoo.com, with questions. 2. If you have younger kids or care for them, join us for playdates at local parks on Wednesday mornings, June 11-August 20, 9:30-11:30 am. Email Sadie Nelson, sadieklar@gmail.com, to be added to the GroupMe notification list.

Love our neighbors by donating blood
At Five Oaks, we see you tangibly loving your neighbors in all sorts of ways, it’s something you don’t just say, but something you do. Because He first loved us, we have the joy of loving others in real, life-giving ways. We’re inviting you to join us in a simple but powerful act of love: Donating blood to help those in need. Your one donation could be the answer to someone’s prayer. A stranger you will never meet will be blessed through your generosity. June 4, at Five Oaks, between 12-6 pm. Sign up for a donation time slot here. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Interested in baptism? Two classes to choose from
Baptism is an important faith milestone. Jesus was baptized, and he called his disciples to go into the world to make disciples and baptize them. If you or your kids have questions about baptism, join us for one of two baptism classes on June 8 at 10:45 am. The adults class will be in room 102 (register here), and the class for kids and students (and their parents) will be in the west end of the commons (register here).

Summer youth group
The youth group is taking a short break from Wednesday programming in June, as that is our month of summer camps. Please join us in praying for all the camp details and for transformation in the hearts of students who are signed up to attend! And mark your calendar—summer youth group kicks off on July 2. Every week of summer youth group has a new theme! More details to come! Questions? Email students@fiveoakschurch.org.

Young adults: Find community this summer
If you’re between ages 18 and 24, and you’ve graduated from high school, you may be looking for community with others your age. Our Young Adult ministry meets most Sundays all summer long at church. (More info here.) We’re having a social on June 8 to kick off the summer together! Join us at the home of Jeff and Melissa Kloetstra for grilling, volleyball, time to hang out, and board and card games. Text Melissa with questions or to RSVP: 612-453-8388.

Join us in prayer for summer camps
Both middle and high school have their own five-day camp coming up in June. Did you know that five days of camp = more discipleship hours than an entire year of Wednesday night youth group? God moves every year in students’ lives! Please pray for students’ hearts to be open to the Holy Spirit working in their lives and that they would take bold next steps in their walk with Jesus. Please also ask God to strengthen our leaders, cover the logistics, and work mightily in leaders’ ability to disciple our young people.

Got time to help out in Five Oaks Kids this summer?
Summertime in MN is so beautiful! Many of our year-long volunteers will have vacations and activities that make serving in their regular roles with Five Oaks Kids difficult. This opens up many opportunities for you to lend a helping hand and help out our current volunteers. Our staff does all the lesson preparation and set-up for you, so you can focus on connecting with kids. If you are willing to help out this summer–once a month, once a week, or once a summer, please email Kelly Bauman, kbauman@fiveoakschurch.org.

Please welcome our summer Impact interns!
We’re looking forward to an exciting summer on the Impact team, as we’ll have three rising seniors join us as interns: Noah Larson, Isaac Lee, and Elisha Redmann. In their ten weeks with us, their projects will include the Slovakia Mission trip, helping out at middle school Camp Getaway, working with various local Impact partners, some internal Five Oaks staff projects, and helping to evaluate a new missions education course. Join us in praying for their summer. Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
