Weekend of May 16+17

refine your path through radical mentoring

Mentorship can have a significant impact on our lives, no matter our age or stage of life. Radical Mentoring is an intentional pairing of a few men or women with an older, seasoned mentor for 10 months. Through studying Scripture, reading books, discussion, and learning practical tools, mentees grow in their relationship with God and in their capacity to be a better friend, family member, spouse, parent, and employee. Want to know more? Check the men’s and women’s pages of our website. Questions? Email Dan Meehan, dpmeehan@gmail.com (men’s), or Evie Swenson, eviejean@gmail.com, (women’s).

Want in on the Global 6K without the “6K” part?
As the Global 6K for Clean Water approaches on May 16 (that’s THIS Saturday!), we need your help to make this event a success for both the communities across the world in need of clean water, and for all of the families who are participating in the event. We’re expecting lots of non-Five Oakers to walk, run, and stroll that day, some of whom have no idea how amazing the people of Five Oaks are. Let’s welcome all who show up that day! We’d love your help with set-up, tear-down, snack table, to name a few. Interested in helping out? (By the way, YES! You can volunteer to help AND walk or run the 6K!) Find more info at www.fiveoaks.church/global-6k

Adults: Share your story through baptism
Is your next step baptism? If you’re a follower of Jesus but haven’t been baptized yet, baptism provides an opportunity to share with others the story of what God has done in your life. Join our Adult Baptism Class on May 17, 9 am, to get your questions answered and learn how to frame your story. Register here. Questions? Email Jonathan Haage, jhaage@fiveoakschurch.org.

Rainforest Falls VBS: Going, going…
Vacation Bible School creates space for kids to experience God in ways that stick. At Rainforest Falls VBS (June 22–25, 9:15–noon), kids ages 3 through finishing third grade will have fun, build friendships, and hear the gospel—often taking real steps of faith. Details and registration available here. Discounts are available for kids whose parent or grandparent volunteers that week. But hurry! Registration closes on May 17! Spots are limited.

We’d love your help with VBS!
Vacation Bible School is one of the best weeks of the summer—and we’d love for you to be part of it! From June 22–26, 9:15–noon, we’re inviting both teenagers and adults to step in and make a lasting impact in the lives of kids. Bonus: volunteers may bring their kids for free during the days they serve! And the nursery is available for volunteers’ very young kids. It’s a meaningful way to invest in the next generation, so join us for a week that truly matters! Find a VBS serving role here.

You can help shape the next generation

FCA Sports Camp (July 6–9, 9 am–12 pm) is a powerful opportunity to invest in the next generation as 4th–6th graders learn gospel truths through sports and relationships. Whether you love coaching, encouraging kids, or simply showing up with a willing heart, you can help students feel seen, supported, and pointed toward Jesus. No athletic ability required—just a desire to make a lasting impact. Learn more and register here.

Love our neighbors by donating blood
Because he first loved us, we have the joy of loving others in real, life-giving ways. We invite you to join us in a simple but powerful act of love: Donating blood to help those in need. Your one donation could be the answer to someone’s prayer. A stranger you will never meet will be blessed through your generosity. June 3, at Five Oaks, between 10a and 2 pm. Sign up for a donation time slot here.  Questions? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Serve a refugee family with your church family
In partnership with Arrive Ministries, our church is starting a new Good Neighbor team to serve a refugee family in St Paul.  We have a solid core team already, but we could really use more hands and resources to help complete the team. Refugees in our neighborhoods are still under intense pressure and are feeling very isolated. We can change that for one family. Will you help? Please email John Johnson (johnjohnson9530@gmail.com) or Dave Baar (dbaar@fiveoakschurch.org) to get more information.
