Weekend of July 4+5

Make an impact from St. Paul to Haiti

You can help kids in our community and in Haiti to start the new school year well by providing them with the supplies they need. During the entire month of July, we’re hosting an online drive partnering with Hope for the Brave and GVCM. Hope for the Brave is collecting backpacks to distribute to kids in need in St. Paul. GVCM is collecting funds to provide 200 students with essential school supplies, shoes, and uniforms made by women in Haiti.

Please pray for FCA Camp
FCA Camp on July 6-9 is four days of high impact for kids and students in 4th-6th grade to learn about Jesus through various sports activities. We often have many Five Oaks families involved, but we also see many kids from the community join us that week. Join us in praying that kids will see how much God loves them and how they can be on mission for him even while training and competing in athletic activities.

Reminder: July 4 weekend schedule change!
As you make plans for the Fourth of July weekend, join us for worship on Saturday, July 4, at 4 pm. We’ll hold one Saturday service that day, leaving plenty of time for family gatherings and evening celebrations. Our Sunday service times remain 9 and 10:45 am. (Yes! We’ll be back to our regular schedule of four worship services the following weekend!)

Worship as a family this weekend
Students in grades 2-5 will join their families in the worship service rather than attending their regular Kids Ministry programming on July 4+5. This special weekend provides a unique opportunity for children to experience “big church” alongside their parents, grandparents, and caregivers. We encourage families to worship together, engage in the service, and use this experience as a springboard for shared conversations on what they’re learning about their faith.

NEW Impact Partnership Info Session - This Weekend (July 5)

Interested in learning more about a new Impact partnership that Five Oaks is starting in Asia?  This weekend we have a unique opportunity to hear directly from our ministry partner from Asia. Join us on Sunday morning, July 5, at 10:15 am in Room 105 to learn more about the ministry we will be partnering with and what that developing partnership will look like. If you cannot attend this weekend, no worries - more details on this partnership, and how you can be involved,  will be shared later this year. If you’d like more information sooner, contact Dave at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Pray for our team in Slovakia

Sixteen Five Oakers and Oakers are currently in Slovakia working with Josiah Venture and a local church in Slovakia to organize an evangelistic youth camp where they are using sports, music, and teaching conversational English as avenues to open the door to gospel conversations.  Please keep the team in your prayers in the week ahead - pray that the Slovakian students coming to the camp will hear and experience the gospel, and their lives will be transformed.

The people you influence deserve your best
The best leaders never stop growing. That’s why we’re hosting the Global Leadership Summit on August 6–7. Over two inspiring days, you’ll gain practical leadership tools and a fresh perspective from world-class speakers, including Craig Groeschel, Priscilla Shirer, Arthur C. Brooks, Jim Collins, and Candace Cameron Bure. The Summit is also a great opportunity to invite a friend, coworker, or neighbor who may never attend church but wants to grow as a leader.. Invest in your leadership and the people you influence every day. Register here. Questions? Email Emily Brewer.

Serving kids in our community with your God-given talents
Do you have the gift of Administration or Leadership, or do you just love to serve kids? Our Kids Hope USA ministry is looking for 2-3 additional volunteers to help with all of the planning needed to make our Kids Hope mentoring program at Woodbury Elementary School such an impactful ministry. Roles include communicating with the school and volunteers, recruiting and training mentors, organizing and supporting events, and more. Interested? Email Dave Baar, impact@fiveoakschurch.org.

Make plans now to bring clean water to Belize

We’re already planning a short-term mission trip for January 9–15, 2027, with Filter of Hope in Belize. Together, we’ll visit families, provide life-changing water filters, and share the hope we’ve found in Jesus. We’re announcing it early so you have plenty of time to pray, plan, and consider whether God might be inviting you to be part of this team. Interested, have questions, or just want to stay in the loop? Write “Mission Trip” on your connect card or email Dave Baar at impact@fiveoakschurch.org.
